Peabody Heights Brewery in Baltimore, Maryland, is located on the former site of Old Oriole Park, once home to the Federal League Baltimore Terrapins and the International League Baltimore Orioles.

In honor of that heritage, the brewery has released a new beer, Old Oriole Park Bohemian. The bottle’s label includes a photograph of a player at Old Oriole Park sliding into home plate, with the grandstand near the left field corner as the backdrop.

On June 27, 2015, Richard O’Keefe, the owner of Peabody Heights Brewery, and J. Hollis Albert, III, General Manager of the brewery, welcomed guests to celebrate the official opening of the tasting room, which is located in what was once left field at Old Oriole Park.

The tasting room is now open to the public every weekend, typically from 5-7 pm on Fridays and 11 am to 4 pm on Saturdays.

I would like to speak to you about the Van Der Horst family. i work for a family owned restaurant in Fells Point. The family asked me to research some of the history of the building. My research has lead me to J. H. Van Der Horst owning this building during the Civil War. I would love to talk to you about the subject and get with the gents from Peabody Brewing and possibly set up an event for baseball lovers at the old JH Van Der Horst Tavern.

Thanks to you David, I finally got to see the brewery on December 12, 2015 prior to attending the Orioles Fan Fest downtown.
The owner gave me a tour both inside and outside the building, showed me how they brew their different brands of beer, and showed me some of the baseball history at Old Orioles Park #5.
Even bought two 6 packs of Bohemian to take back to NC with me. I drank the last bottle the other night.
It was a fun couple of hours there.
